Soccer Shots Los Angeles was established in 2008. For the next 12 years, the Heim family grew the fledgling program into a juggernaut in the South Bay and West Side, serving thousands of Angeleno children. By Summer of 2020, COVID-19 had all but decimated children's outdoor programming in Los Angeles.

In early March of 2020, our family joined the Soccer Shots network, this time centered in the San Gabriel Valley. Though we couldn't start right away, we learned all we could about the business. Starting in October of 2020, Soccer Shots received its first post-COVID permit in Los Angeles—a big win!

We filled that first post-COVID season with almost 50 kids, half of whom were friends and family we'd asked to help us fill class. We asked our friend, Becky Carter, the most organized person we know, to join the team. Classes were socially distanced and soccer balls weren't shared. Most students wore masks.

Since then, we've grown to serving almost 1,000 children each season from Santa Monica to San Dimas, with credit to a stellar full-time team that includes Drew Gatto (Director of Outreach and Partner Relations), Wyatt Neagle (Director of Coaching), Bronte Eather (Operations Manager), and Hugo Fernandez (Master Coach). Our part-time coaches complete a powerhouse team that aims to deliver an exceptional soccer experience for our families.

In the summers, we run Summer Flex™, an opportunity for families to enroll with vacation time built in. With Summer Flex™ families pay for eight sessions and attend up to ten. We also have Drop-In Classes throughout the summer. Fall, Winter and Spring seasons vary in length from 8- to 12-week sessions.

Since it began in 1997, Soccer Shots has served over 2,000,000 children nationally. Our curriculum, which aligns with California early childhood education standards, is developed by early childhood education experts, professional athletes and caring coaches. We aim to teach foundational soccer skills through joy. Our unique program is where to begin.
